Exceptional Advocacy From Three Board-Certified Family Law Attorneys

James Camp

James Camp

Business Operations Manager
James was born and raised in the Foothills of the North Carolina mountains, specifically a small town you’ve never heard of. After moving to Greensboro in 2009, he went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2013 where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. In 2018, he completed his Master of Science in nursing from Johns-Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland with a concentration in Biostatistics, and in 2023 he completed his Doctorate in Nursing with a concentration in Healthcare Business and Finance from his alumni, The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

During his time in Emergency, Trauma, and Neurocritical Care medicine, James also obtained a Legal Nurse Consultant certification and began assisting in case reviews. Following the pandemic, James left the inpatient healthcare world and began doing the business operations for our firm here at Bullock Clay & Furr. James is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our firm’s business, but his experience as a nurse and nurse leader brings a unique perspective to our family law firm that gives us access to insights into stress management, mindfulness, health and wellness, child development, and so much more.

When asked about his professional career, and the trajectory from inpatient critical care nursing and nursing leadership to managing the business operations of a law firm, James had this to say:

“Life has a way of proving you wrong – From the age of 7 to 18 years old I was absolutely certain I was going to be a professional cellist and had been training to do so, but life had other plans and the events of a single day in April 2008 changed that and it took me on a wild and wonderful journey into healthcare where I met some of the most amazing and wonderful people, both patients and colleagues. Nurses are strong advocates, and we are not afraid to speak up and advocate for those under our charge, and I am excited to get to work with and support a team where I can continue to do that.”

Outside of his professional life, James enjoys dogs (specifically the Great Dane breed); has an obsession with growing and learning about plants and flowers, but specifically orchids; enjoys sitting his phone on a shelf and forgetting about it when at home; and still playing his cello now with added excitement as his nephew had also decided to play the cello!
